Normal is Overrated

The year 2022 opened expectantly different than the previous one as the world slowly returns to normal. Travel restrictions are lifting, stadium concerts are coming back, and even the plexiglass is disappearing. Normal is good. Right?

However, as we emerged from the basement after being locked out of society for over two years, we noticed a strange new development. It’s as if “normal” received a botched facelift. It’s even uglier now than it was before.

Our current predicament reminds me of the iconic scene from the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy’s dog, Toto, exposes the Wizard as a fraud. “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”

Or, in other words, don’t look at what’s right in front of your eyes. Ignore civilizations for the last millennia where men and women had distinct physical characteristics and only women could have babies. Of course, you can change the laws of nature. After all, it is 2022.

As a society, we’ve gone from idolizing male athletes, … to discriminating against men by redirecting their team’s funding to women’s sports, … to discriminating against women’s sports by directing their funding towards teams with men who think they are women.

We’ve gone from seeing ads of scantily dressed, painfully thin women, … to ads of scantily dressed morbidly obese women, … to ads of scantily dressed men posing as women, … to ads of pregnant “men” posing with women.

We’ve gone from schools requiring permission from parents for field trips to the zoo, … to schools allowing male students into female bathrooms without parents’ permission, … to teachers taking students to drag queen shows, and forbidding them to tell their parents.

Did you know that the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, one of the most respected brands in academia, amended the definition of female to add “having a gender identity that is opposite of male” (Merriam-Webster, 2022)?

Did you know that H.R. 8404, a radical piece of legislation mislabeled as the “Respect for Marriage Act,” just passed in the House of Representatives last week? If approved in the Senate, this would not only codify same-sex marriage as law but would also pave the way for states to legally recognize polygamy (Eckert, 2022). Yes, you heard that right. Polygamy—the practice of having more than one spouse at a time which is still practiced in some African and Middle Eastern countries where women are treated as property—could be making a comeback in America.

In less than 100 years, we’ve gone from women not being able to vote, … to women having more legal protections than men, … to believing all women all the time, … to not protecting women in their own bathrooms and locker rooms, … to not knowing what a woman is.

Please, God, make it stop. On the Edge

For decades, Christians Conservatives received ridicule for even suggesting the slippery slope argument. We warned that legally recognizing gay marriage could lead to normalizing pedophilia and other insidious behaviors. We warned that allowing safe, legal, and rare abortion could escalate into genocide of the most vulnerable segment of Americans, the pre-born.

But we’re no longer just standing on a slick incline. We’ve taken a nosedive; the snowball is picking up steam; we’re rolling towards the edge of the cliff and headed towards the abyss below.

I saw a remarkable interview just last week which, in a strange twist of fate, legitimized our position. Wendy Bell, an anchor for Newsmax and a Pittsburgh native, interviewed the brave young woman who founded Gays Against Groomers, Jaimee Michelle. Here’s what she said during the interview airing July 20,2022:

Back in the day when we were just fighting for marriage equality, people warned us about the slippery slope—you know, the radical religious right. I used to be really naïve and think, that’s definitely not going to happen. We literally just wanted to get married.

But as time has gone on, the activists within our community have pushed things really, really far—much further than many within our coalition are comfortable with. Right now, all you see coming out of our community is indoctrinating kids and sexualizing children through gender theory. The majority of society, now when they think of a gay person, they think of this.

We have a really big problem being associated with this because it’s ruining our reputation and erasing the decades of hard work that we and our gay and lesbian elders put in to just be accepted and be part of society.

Gays Against Groomers picked up over 100,000 followers on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram in just six weeks! Jaimee acknowledges that their voices were needed in this fight because straight people, parents, and everyone else in the community are instantly written off as hateful and bigoted when they speak out against the predators trying to sexualize and exploit children.

After remarking that parents who are complicit with this radical agenda are as bad as the groomers, she said, “We want to let parents know that [transitioning your child] is not trendy, it’s abuse. And it really needs to stop.”

Wow. Just wow.

Could you have ever imagined a scenario in which the Gay and Lesbian Community would be on the same side as Christian Conservatives? But here we are. And many on both sides are very pleased with the new coalition.

“…while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13

Next week we’ll discuss three ways we can stop this insanity. Don’t miss it!
